BSB: New season under way

The 2017 British Superbike Championship has begun and already there are signs that again it will be an exciting and closely fought championship.

Leon Haslam leads the standings for JG Speedfit Kawasaki after a dream start to the season which saw him take a double at his home track at Donington Park. His team mate, Luke Mossey is closely behind in second with returning former champion, Josh Brookes making a solid start to the season in fourth place despite joining a new team and being away from the championship last season in World Superbikes.

It has been a tough start to the championship for reigning champion Shane Byrne. So far, the Ducati rider has scored no podium finishes and lies 14th in the standings, behind promising Suzuki rookie, Brad Ray. However, the format of the championship means he is still in the title race but he will be looking for strong podium finishes at the next round, Oulton Park.
